Heraklion Port Authority and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings join forces within the context of their social responsibility strategies and support socially vulnerable groups in Heraklion/Crete

The unexpected conditions, that occurred because of the pandemic, have been associated with a variety of good practices of social responsibility by various enterprises.

In this context, Norwegian Cruise Lines Holding, which has included the port of Heraklion as transit port in the 2021 East Med itineraries (using as homeport Piraeus), responded positively to an initiative addressed by the cruise department of Heraklion Port Authority, by providing basic goods to our fellow human beings in need.

Today, September 6, 2021, NCL sponsored 100 matrasses which were distributed as follows:

To SOS Children’ Villages (30 pieces), to the Cultural Association of St. George (50 pieces) and to the Heraklion Association of families with more than three children (20 pieces).

The Management of HPO SA expresses its sincere appreciation to the ship-owning company NCL Cruises, its Environmental officer, as well as the crew members, who supported and assisted the above Bodies.

In this challenging situation, which our country is experiencing, the concept of Social Responsibility is expanding through the cooperation of public and private sector, in the form of socially responsible activities, for meeting and satisfying the needs of vulnerable groups in Greece.
